Call for Sessions: Kongress der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Soziologie 2019

Die Österreichische Gesellschaft für Soziologie ladet alle Sektionen der ÖGS, ihre Mitglieder und alle interessierten Kolleginnen und Kollegen ein, Vorschläge für Sessions im Rahmen des kommenden ÖGS-Kongresses „Alles im Wandel? Dynamiken und Kontinuitäten gegenwärtiger Gesellschaften“ zu machen. Die Sessions sollten einen Bezug zum Rahmenthema aufweisen und müssen offen für Einreichungen von Vortragsvorschlägen im Rahmen eines Calls for Papers sein.

CARESS presents its results: Improving vocational education for home care professionals

The CARESS Erasmus+ project is a unique endeavour to improve vocational education and training in the field of home care. For three years, educational institutions and other partners from Finland, Spain and Italy have sketched out the main needs in the sector in order to create specific and common learning modules and launch a Virtual Community of Practice to help professionals sharing their practices.

AGE Platform Europe: MobileAge project releases policy recommendations on co-creation for inclusive digital services

The EU-funded MobileAge project, in which AGE is actively involved, is getting close to an end. During its final conference on 10 October, the project partners presented a first list of outcomes, including a series of policy briefings addressing key issues for inclusive digital services: co-creation tools, digital divide, accessibility, loneliness and social isolation, the GDPR and the access to free services.

On the occasions of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, AGE wished to remind decision-makers about the increasing precariousness and social exclusion of the most disadvantaged and invisible older people, leading to the violation of their right to live in dignity and fully participate in society.

COST Action on Ageism conference - Interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach: key to address the complexity of ageism

On October 26, COST Action IS1402 on Ageism, AGE Platform Europe and the Committee of the Regions organized an international event to advocate for a future world for all ages, in which age is no longer a barrier. This event summarizes the work done on the topic of ageism by more than 200 researchers and policy stakeholders from 35 different countries, as part of a COST Action on ageism.

Regelmäßige öffentliche Vorlesungsreihe mit renommierten internationalen Vortragenden verschiedener Disziplinen, die, jeweils unter einem Jahresmotto, zu Themen des Alterns und des Alters referieren und mit dem Publikum diskutieren. Bei freiem Eintritt richtet sich diese sehr gut etablierte ÖPIA Vortragsreihe an interessierte Laien genauso wie an ExpertInnen aus Wissenschaft und Praxis. Die Vorlesungen dienen der öffentlichen Information, der Verbesserung gesellschaftlicher Alternsbilder, dem Wissenstransfer und der Netzwerkbildung zwischen Wissenschaft, Politik, Praxis und Medien.

Das Projekt "Demenz in Bewegung. Studie und Handlungsempfehlungen für demenzfreundliches Unterwegssein im öffentlichen Verkehrssystem" setzte sich zum Ziel gemeinsam MIT Menschen mit beginnender Demenz die außerhäusliche Mobilität im öffentlichen Raum zu erforschen und Handlungsempfehlungen für verschiedene Zielgruppen zu erarbeiten.
