The World Health Organisation launches the Global Dementia Observatory (GDO)
As the global population ages, the number of people living with dementia is expected to triple from 50 million to 152 million by 2050. The estimated annual global cost of dementia is US$ 818 billion, equivalent to more than 1% of global gross domestic product. The total cost includes direct medical costs, social care and informal care (loss of income of carers). By 2030, the cost is expected to have more than doubled, to US$ 2 trillion, a cost that could undermine social and economic development and overwhelm health and social services, including long-term care systems.
FFG: Infoday AAL Call 2018 - Active and Assisted Living Programme
Für Anfang Februar 2018 ist die Eröffnung der Ausschreibung 2018 im Active and Assisted Living Programme (AAL Programme) geplant. Aus diesem Anlass laden Sie das Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie (BMVIT) und die Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH (FFG) sehr herzlich zu dem Infoday ein. Für die Teilnahme ist eine Anmeldung erforderlich.

Call bis 28.05.2018: AAL Programme 5. Ausschreibung (2018) "Smart Solutions for Ageing Well"
Das "AAL Programme" ist ein gemeinsam mit europäischen Partnerländern sowie Unterstützung durch die Europäische Kommission durchgeführtes F&E&I-Förderprogramm. Das Programm zielt auf die Erhöhung der Lebensqualität älterer Menschen auf der Basis von IKT-gestützten Produkten, Dienstleistungen und Systemen. Dadurch soll auch die europäische Wirtschaft gestärkt werden. Projekte, die im AAL Programme gefördert werden, sind transnationale und teilfinanzierte Vorhaben der Experimentellen Entwicklung.
