Henry Ford Building, Freie Universität Berlin, Garystraße 35, 14195 Berlin-Dahlem, Germany

Dear Colleagues and dear Friends,

willkommen in Berlin! It is our privilege and great pleasure to invite you to join us for the 19th World Congress of Psycho-Oncology in Berlin, Germany, which will be held in the summer of 2017, from 14th- 18th August.

“Cancer throughout the Lifespan – addressing the psychosocial needs of diverse populations” is our congress theme. The congress will focus on specific symptom burden, distress and psychosocial care needs throughout the lifespan from children and young adults to the elderly with cancer and the needs of diverse cancer populations.

The International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) hosts the conference with support of the Psycho-Oncology Work group (PSO) within the German Cancer Society (DKG) in collaboration with the German Association of Psycho-Social Oncology (dapo) and supported by the German Society of Medical Psychology (DGMP), the German College of Psychosomatic Medicine (DKPM), the German Society for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (DGPM), the German Society for Rehabilitation Sciences (DGRW), the German Association for Social Work in Health Care (DVSG) and the Federal Consortium for Psychosocial Counselling of Outpatients with Cancer (BAK).

We are looking forward to providing exciting workshops as part of the Psychosocial Academy (August 14th-15th 2017) and are delighted to host the IPOS world conference IPOS2017 in Berlin, Germany.

The congress city, Berlin, has become the vibrant metropole in the middle of Europe. Berliners themselves, they enjoy living in an European capital, being a scientific and cultural melting pot and a charming hippy town with start-ups and clubs at the same time. Berlin is unique because of its recent and relevant history, its science, its historical monuments, its lifestyle, its arts and culture and last but not least an enjoyable dining culture!
