Palliative/Hospice Care and Care Dependency

Care dependency increases in the end of life stage. To assess the care needs of patient in the end of life stage is crucial to provide good care. The main goal of palliative care is to maintain a good quality of life as long as possible. This is only reachable if nurses and other carers know the needs and wishes of the patients. For identifying patients needs, nurses needs instruments. Such an instrument is the Care Dependency Scale (CDS). In this projekt the CDS is adapted for the setting pallitive/hospice care. Furthermore the instrument is tested on it´s validity and reliabilty.
